This piece was commissioned by the brass players of the Ensemble Liberte Wind Orchestra in August of 2004. It is written especially as contest repertoire and includes many ideas and requests from band members. Tarantella is known as dance music from Napoli in fast 6/8; however, instead of 6/8, this piece has time changes from the start at a fast tempo. The form is free and the music is varied. Create your own stories with the music and I am sure the performance will be even more interesting. I hope many people get to know, play, and enjoy this piece as part of the brass sextet repertoire.
