作品について / Program notes: この作品は創価グロリア吹奏楽団の委嘱により、2004年９月に作曲しました。技術の高いメンバーということもあり、いつもと違った作風で手掛けることにしました。 「忘却の城跡」というタイトルについては自由にイメージを膨らませて頂ければと思います。固有なものを描写したのではなく、あくまでも感覚的なものを音にしています。楽曲中に特殊効果音も使用されていますので、パフォーマンスにもコダワリを持って頂けると大変嬉しいです。技術的にも音楽的にも難しい作品ではありますが、多くの皆様に親しまれることを願っています。 最後になりましたが作品を完成するにあたって、多くのご助言を頂きました東京交響楽団トロンボーン奏者の萩野昇氏に心より感謝します。 （八木澤教司）

I wrote this in September of 2004, as commissioned by the Soka Gloria Wind Orchestra. Since they are really fine players, I decided to make this piece very distinctive. Through the title, The Ruins in Limbo, you can extend your imagination to whatever you feel. I was not trying to express a certain thing with notes, only something sensual. Special sound effects are also used, and players are supposed to be particular about making the entire performance interesting. This is a challenging piece musically and technically, however, I hope many people get to know and enjoy it.
