| 陸上自衛隊第２音楽隊創隊３０周年記念委嘱作品。その昔，神居古潭（吊り橋から3ｋmほど上流までの渓谷を指す）にはコロポックル族という，蕗の葉下には２０～３０人は入れるほど小さな妖精が棲んでいたという。神居古潭（カムイコタン）はアイヌ語で「神のいるところ」という意味なので，これを単なる迷信として片付けるのはナンセンスである。コロポックル伝説のあるこの地域にはきっと何らかの不思議な出来事があったのだろう…。現在の神居古潭はトンネルばかりで景観を楽しむ間もなく通り過ぎてしまう場所になりつつあるが，当時はコロポックルやストーンサークルを一目見たいと，この地を訪れた若者がたくさんいたそうだ。こんな夢のあるところは人間にとって大切な存在だ。当曲は神居古潭の美しく壮大な風景ばかりではなく，激流が夕張山地の北端を侵食してできた断崖や奇岩怪石の渓谷といった自然の厳しさを，小さなコロポックルの視点から描写した冒険ストーリーである。 |
