| 神奈川県に位置する茅ヶ崎北陵高等学校の吹奏楽部である北陵ウィンドアンサンブルの委嘱作品として作曲し、2010年3月に顧問である丸山透氏の指揮と同団によって世界初演された。 パンドーラーはギリシャ神話に登場する女性で、神々によって人類の災いとして創造され地上へ送り込まれた。“パン”は“全て”、“ドーラー”は“贈り物”を意味する語句で“パンドラの箱”は“開けてはならないもの”という意味をさす。様々な説のあるこの箱にインスピレーションを受け作曲者はドラマティックな音楽に仕上げた。既にデ・ハスケ社で出版されている《ペルセウス》と同じく「ギリシャ神話シリーズ」の続編として位置付けられる作品。実際にギリシャ神話を読み、想像を膨らませて演奏すると良いだろう。 |
