■解説 (Commentary)
福岡県立嘉穂高等学校吹奏楽部創部80周年記念委嘱作品として作曲し、2010年10月、同吹奏楽部顧問である伏 見宣秀氏の指揮によって世界初演された。八木澤教司氏と同高校吹奏楽部は共に2010年5月に台北で開催され た「第4回台湾クリニック」にゲスト出演し、それぞれが別のステージを担当した。その後、同じ日本人という こともあり互いに意気投合し、伏見氏は台湾の地で多くの八木澤作品に触れ“創部80周年記念、そして生徒たちの輝かしい未来を祝う作品を”と作曲者に新作を依頼した。八木澤氏は台湾で聴いた嘉穂サウンドの印象や 特徴を生かすべく作品に仕上げた。華やかで明るいファンファーレ、ドラマティックに奏でるコラールを存分 に楽しめるだろう。演奏会のオープニングに相応しい力作である。
