静岡県浜松市立高等学校は百有余年の伝統と歴史を持つ名門女子校でしたが、2005年度から男女共学校になり、それにあたって私は新校歌の作曲を担当するというご縁を持たせて頂きました。その経緯もあり「シンフォニア」は同校コンサートバンドの委嘱作品として2006年1月に作曲させて頂きました。（元）顧問である山縣敦男先生と生徒さんのご要望で“愛”をテーマにした普遍的な作品を目指し、透明感のある響きと躍動的な旋律を持った間奏曲として仕上げました。聴く人にも、演奏者にも優しい気持ちになってほしいという願いを込めて作曲しています。
