| A Tone Poem for Wind Orchestra “Like the Eagle, We Soar and Rise” Commissioned by Yuying Secondary School Alumni For Yuying Concert Band to commemorate its Centennial Celebration 2010. ■ A Tone Poem for Wind Orchestra”Like the Eagle, We Soar and Rise”/Music by Satoshi Yagisawaこの作品はシンガポールのYuying Secondary School Alumniの委嘱で、Yuying Concert Band to commemorate its Centennial Celebration 2010として作曲しました。タイトルは作品を書くきっかけを与えてくださった友人であるSteven Phua氏が名付けたもので、同中学校の校歌の一節が使用されています。100周年の記念を祝う意味と学校関係者の皆様、生徒さんに益々希望に満ちた未来があることを願って作曲した作品です。 曲の場面は大きく３つに分かれていて第一場面は“学校創設に関わった人々の情熱”を、第二場面は“戦争をはじめとする困難”を、第三場面は“未来へ”といったテーマを持っています。創設にあたり、そして戦争などもあり多くのご苦労があったと思いますが、その多くの困難を乗り越えて行く強い意志を描写しています。そして未来へ向けての更なる発展を願うファンファーレで集結の時を迎えます。シンガポールの優秀な指導者であるFaizal Bin Othman氏の情熱的な指揮と未来に輝く生徒さんたちに世界初演をして頂けることを心より楽しみにしています。 |
